If you can wake up at 2:00 to 4:00 a.m. please do so, it is the best way to read simply because all the people around are already sleeping including your neighbors.No one will disturb you and so you will be able to aprehend all the reading materials as well as you find it easy memorizing them.I did this when I was in college and it was very effective to me.

Reading at before bed is good if your trying to fall asleep, but if you need more concentration then that I would read before or after dinner instead of watching TV.

I like to read anytime...late at night is good, it is usually peaceful by then.
