im a foreign nurse and have completed all the necessary requirements for the EB3 visa application. my problem is that due to visa retrogession of october 2006, all hospitals stopped the hiring of foreign nurses. do you have any idea when this will be over?

The government has the discretion to lift the stoppage for hiring of foreign nurses as a valid exercise of police power of the state to regulate medical care. Thus, just be patient for the government to decide if the need for nurses arises.

Uh oh. Fraginal ate too many Easter eggs.

EB3, like most immigration categories, is subject to numerical limits. If it turns out that too many visas are being issued and the limit will be exceeded in any year, we have to stop until the calendar catches up.

No one knows exactly when that will happen, since the numbers change every day as in-process visas are cleaned out.
