That God created Adam first and Eve later is an ancient Man's guess. Adam has not told anybody. Even assuming that God did indeed create Adam first and Eve later, there could have been at least three reasons for it.
First, it was easier to design a Man, designing woman was more comples. God went step by step.
Second, God initially thought he would be satisfied by one Man. But later he wanyed more men. But he did not give foll powers to Adam to multiply himself. So he had to create Woman later.
Third, God was not sure wherher the first husband should be younger in age than his wife. He did not want to take chances to give all the advantages to women.: the birth advantage was given to the first Man.
There are of course many more reasons. But three is enough for 2 points.

Adam was created before Eve. After Adam was created; The LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him." (Genesis 2:18, NIV)
I believe this should answer you question. Please read the rest of the story in Genesis 2:18-25. May the Lord bless you.

Man created god, and man wrote the stories of god, and back then 2000+ years ago, for middle eastern religions it was a form of control for women; because women where treated as property, or just second best, to be a companion to Adam and nothing more.

But apparently this is not the case, check this out,

For today's human beings, Adam would be 80,000 years younger to eve, which means Eve is older, which means to me is the Bible is not true, and the stories are fairy tales for brainwashing little children so when they grow up, they can be controlled.

Contrary to the others here, I will say that God does exist; He is the Creator of all and that He created Adam and Eve in that order as an illustration of how men and women are meant to stand side-by-side in life. It is not symbolic of putting women in a subservient place.

There are two creation stories. In one story they were both created from earth at the same time. In the other, she was created from his rib. I prefer the earth story.

If you prefer the other version, keep in mind that critters were created by levels, each level being a little more advanced. Hence, Eve was the ultimate creation.

The Bible introduces the idea of the need for companionship before it even mentions sexuality and pro-creation. By introducing this concept first, the Bible makes the point that the companionship we offer our mates is the most enduring and rare gift we can bring to an intimate relationship. Sexual desire - although indispensable - may ebb and flow, but the need for companionship is constant. One rabbinical commentary suggests that women was created second so that man could experience loneliness and more fully appreciate his partner. Another opines that as Adam names the animals as they passed by him in pairs he commented: “Everything has a partner, but I have no partner.”

According to the bible per se, no one witnessed this "event". No one knows. Adam and Eve were many, many centuries dead (according to the bible) before anyone wrote anything down about a creation story. When someone did finally write it down, it was a man who did the telling, of course, which answers your question.
