Many people are misinformed about the religion of Islam. We all know about the religious extremists and terrorists. However, there are those kinds of people is just about every religion, including Christianity, and I'm still a Christian. Based on what I've read and heard, Islam seems to be more real and believable to those who have been "let down" by Christianity. It seems to offer a practical way of dealing with life in general. The thing that I find most appealing is that Islam doesn't claim to be the only way of salvation. They honor and respect Judaism, and Christianity. In fact, they teach a lot of the same principles as the other two major religions.

I believe that Islam is growing because of people not being able to accept that they are not in control of their own destiny. To many peoples egos are not allowing them to accept the gift of salvation from Jesus. They feel like it is something that they have to earn. Why, because of course they have the ability to prove themselves worthy of God. When you really look at it, it's an impossible goal. How can anyone even begin to measure up to a all powerful, perfect God. Why do you think so many Muslims are willing to strap a bomb to their chest and kill themselves. Because the Quran states that if they die in an act of Jihad they will be assured a place in heaven. They now that they have no hope of earning their way in, so this is the only option.
Why doesn't teaching like this, and the true way Islam teaches the role of women, appear in USA. Because, just like in Christianity there are many denominations of the religion. These denominations don't teach what may be viewed as negative, they just deal with what positive material they can use to emass a church. Many Christian churches do the same thing. They are commonly referred to as seeker churches. Superficially present only the politically correct aspects of the Bible that make everything sound flexible. It's alright if your living a homosexual life style, join our church. The reasoning is that as they grow in faith they'll discover on their own that they have been pursuing a wrong life style. The core, Biblically, based church would never knowing allow a homosexual to join it's congregation and lets people know that upfront. People are basically joining a religion that is not being properly represented and some may never learn the difference.
Read the Quran and make your own decision. But in doing so realise this. The Quran is being represented as the true word of God. If like the Bible, it's followers are making this claim then everything in it most be followed and most not be changed. For who are we to alter the devine word of God. You can't say that things written then don't apply now because times have changed. The word of God can not change, for that would make what God said wrong. If followers of Islam would read the Quran they would see the representation of their religion.

"Islam is the fastest growing religion."
Imagine that there are only two foods on the entire planet, call them Awah and Beya. Roughly half the people eat Awah and half the people eat Beya. Because these are cultural foods, most people don't sample the other food very often. Neither really is growing in popularity. Awah stabilizes at 35%, Beya stabilizes at 65%. Neither is growing or fading.
Then Canwa comes along. People start trying Canwa. The first person who tastes Canwa literally makes its rate of increase infinitely high... no one's ever eaten it before and now someone has ... 1 / 0... As time passes, this initial growth spurt slows, but it's growing steadily. Is this because Canwa is good food? Or is it just because it hasn't reached market saturation yet?
Interestingly enough, the spread of religions follows economic formulas just as do all other commodities. When Christianity first formed, it was the fastest 'growing' religion. When Heaven's Gate first formed, it was the fastest 'growing' religion. Believe it or not, the Church of the FSM beats Islam for growth speed -- it's just that no one is paying attention to the fact that there are people who literally claim FSMism as their religion.
In time, Islam will consume its market share in the religious market and it will cease growing.
Rates of change do not a true religion make. Rates of change in religion are purely economic effects.

Yes, I'm one of those "numbers"
I was born and raised in America. To my knowledge, I am the only person in family who is a Muslim. The rest of my family are Christians and a few are Atheists.
I converted to Islam mainly of the rights that are given to women in Islam. I loved the message that Islam implied and ever since then I have been struggling to help overcome the negative aspect of Islam.
I know that there are Muslim men that will abuse me, but I'm not dumb enough to believe that an American man will never hit me. Abusers come in all shapes and sizes. American, German, Japanese, and so on.
Well my story is not remarkable, but Yvonne Ridley is.

She is a British journalist who was arrested by the Taliban, yet she converted to being a Muslim.
Education is a powerful tool.

Islam is winning Western women admirers despite hostile media coverage It is even more ironic that most British converts should be women, given the widespread view in the west that Islam treats women poorly. In the United States, women converts outnumber men by four to one, and in Britain make up the bulk of the estimated 10, 000 to 20, 000 converts, forming part of a Muslim community of 1 to 1.5 million.

It must be all the fun they have at the mosque! Well that and the fairy tales are even more outrageous than the Biblical ones and we all like a good story now and again. Could be the wonderful fashions that the women get to wear too, that's got to be a big draw. I'm surprised there isn't even more people joining up to this wonderful interpretation of worshiping God.

Religion strives on ignorance.
In every modern countries with a proper public school system religion tends to disapear as the population education rises.
Let's hope the USA can come up again with a proper school system, they deserve it.

Have you ever noticed when ANY religion was introduced???
It's a matter of Power and Corruption............
that's ALL religion is...
religion has NOTHING to do with Spirituality,
NOTHING...
Here's the Solution to eliminate religion from your life:
Create a private, personal, direct, divine Relationship with Our Creator and save your Soul from religion.
Only with Our Creator's Love and Peace will we be Truly Free!
Love and Believe in Our Creator;
Love and Believe in Yourself.
"religion is Spiritual fraud"; "religion is the Worse invention of humanity" - Jesus Christ, Buddha and any one else with Spiritual intelligence.
Without God, there is No Love; Without religion, there are No Wars!
