I am holding a charitable event that is due at the end of April. I have a company working for me to do some advertisment in placemats through out my county and surrounding areas. I have given this company all of my materials last month expecting a finish product at the beginning of this month. I am so fustrated because I dont have my placemats. I told him last week they needed to be out this weekend. Well he just called and they are printing it today and he will have them out tomorrow. I feel like pulling the plug on him but knowing my time is so limited... he is the only company that a lot of restaurants deal with. I feel so helpless!

Next time have a contract and list a due date and a term that will detuct a percentage daily from your cost of the place mats if they do not complete them on the date agreed upon in the contract.

Since there is so little time, there is no choice but to stay with this printer for this job.

One idea that may help: contact the manager of a restaurant who has worked with him a lot and mention the problem. The manager might be able to give him a ring and tell him to get the placemats out asap.

Hope this helps.

You could just go to a 24 hour printer and have something printed very quickly on plain paper and then have it laminated to appear to be a placemat. Check your local Yellow Pages for a "Fast print" type shop.

Is this an annual event???

After it is over, just explain to him, you had enough problems with out having to cope with his unsatisfactory performance and that you didn't feel you could trust him or recommend him to anyone else.
That hits where it hurts.

I hope you get through the rest of this w/o any problems. Good luck.

If he treated his other customers the way he has treated you he will not be in business much longer. If you get your products when he promises this time you can still have your event. He and anyone else you talk to should know how he has treated you, and that he did not produce on time.
