grinding them with a pestal and mortar before you ingest them is the best. that way they don't just pass through without your body getting the benefits. you can add it to juices, smoothies or even over cereal. take your pick. be inventive.

I like to buy them already ground so it's less work to use them. I put them in oatmeal, pancakes, baking...anything really. My kids have never turned something down because it tasted funny. I have used flax seed oil before and the kids wouldn't touch anything with even a tsp of the stuff in it. It has a very offensive smell and taste - very strong.

I assume you're wanting to take them because of the omega-3's in it?

If so, you can find either fish oil or flaxseed oil caplets. I find it's much easier to get down than a tablespoon of the actual oil.

You can soak them in water but I prefer to add them to plain yogurt. It gives the yogurt a nice nutty taste.
