The greener and larger the plant, the more sunlight it gets, the more it absorbs.

Plants use sunlight to convert the carbon dioxide and water to sugars, which are used to produce starches and celluose, so the more sugars are produce, the more it absorbs.

The ocean is about 80% larger than the land surface on the earth, and so ocean plants absorb about 80% more.

Plants further reduce the percentage of carbon dioxide in the air, by adding oxygen and nitrogen to the air.

I cannot really answer your question with a specific plant or group of plants, but if it is big, green, loves bright sun, and grows fast, it absorbs more carbon dioxide.

Don't know of one specifically, I read you question earlier but delayed answering so I could mention it to a friend who's a Lakota (Sioux) Indian - he didn't know either.

I would guess that it's going to be one that grows very quickly, dense, rich foliage, probably verdant green.

Hopefully you'll get a better answer than this.
