i need a camera thats compact that can make videos and take reallly good pictures and still preettty tuff and a resonible screen size .
in the price range 350 - 500 AUS dollars

Canon Powershot G7
Canon PowerShot S3 IS both real good choices.
* I think the S3IS might be the best choice:
- Stereo sound in video
- Longer telephoto for candid shots
-12x zoom
- Image Stabalized for less blurry photos
- Can use AA batteries in a pinch
- LCD can flip out ad twist

its the latest and it looks like a handycam but its a digital camera.
