No to both questions.

Wicca is a very individualistic religion. In fact, one could argue it is not a single religion, but a different one for each witch. Even such questions as what to call a male member of the circle (male witch? warlock? wizard? magician? magus?), or even what to call a circle (circle? coven? group? tribe? gathering?) have many answers.

Wicca is a catch-all term for people who believe in Mother Nature, in enlightenment through dancing, singing, doing in an active and joyful way. Some manage to find a place to dance outdoors "skyclad" (i.e., clad in nothing but sky), while others do whatever rituals they do indoors, away from those who would disapprove. Some wear nothing, some wear robes, some wear their ordinary clothing. Many do only private solo rituals, either from preference or because they do not know any other witches in their neighborhood. Many do large gatherings where the public is generally welcome, although they often do private rituals separately.

They don't all agree on what colors represent what forces, or how important it is to learn Tarot or astrology or numerology. They don't all agree on the names of their Gods and Goddesses, or how many of them there are. Some seem to have created a feminine monotheism, citing "The" Goddess (whichever one they mean) as The deity.

Many, I fear, are just following a fashion and know little about what they are doing. These often get burnt by the black candles they light, either physically or metaphorically.

I was in gym class one day and decided I would become Wiccan because somehow, it kinda sounded right. I'm sure a lot of Wiccans would have a problem with this, thinking that I should've come to Wicca though deep soul-searching instead of just a random thought popping into my head, but oh well. I've been studying for roughly 5 years now. I think everyday is a learning opportunity. I haven't come out to anyone in my family except my atheist father (who readily accepts it and is glad to know I've found something that makes me happy; plus, he's still upset about some insults my Baptist mother threw at him, so he's glad I'm not Christian, which is strange....). I do not plan on coming out of the broom closet to the rest of my family, at least not any time soon. Everyone else knows, all of my friends and most of my classmates and probably more than a few strangers since I wear a pentagram often. All my friends are accepting (and I think one might be converting....), and my classmates don't seem to have a problem with it either (heck, maybe I'll meet some fellow Pagans in class!) I was previously a very devout Christian, and it's strange how rapid a change I went through - in 8th grade I was a fanatic Christian and wouldn't let anyone touch my cross pendent, rosary, or Bible; in 9th grade, I sporadically became Wiccan. I'm not quite sure I'm entirely Wiccan, anymore. I'm a Goddess-worshiper, certainly, and I do follow many Wiccan tenets. I guess I just feel that I am embarking on my own path right now, and I'm not sure where it'll end up, but I think I'll enjoy the journey ;) As like with what most others said, sorry this was so long! Blessed Be! <3

There is no central figure in Wicca. And we don't have an island as the center of our religion!

Your hatred is only out done by your ability to express it. I have never seen this before, a question that insults Wicca and my faith at the same time. Amazing. At least you are original.
