Have you ever heard of an atheist killing someone for not believing in atheism? I would bet not. If you have, please provide a link.

However, you can find tons of instances of christians killing people for not being christian or for doing something that christians find offensive. Homosexual killings, abortion clinic bombings, hate crimes against non-christians, and christian based hate organizations are just a few examples.

Christians have a long history of believe in Christ or we kill you. Atheists do not have this history. No atheist will kill someone with the belief that they will be rewarded in an afterlife. Christian soldiers (that phrase comes from both the bible and from a hymn) will kill and destroy with the idea that the evil they do will get them rewards in heaven.

Christians are the ones with the history of trying to make their way, "the only way".

Have you ever heard of the "No True Scotsman" logic falicy? You claim that christians are loving and kind and are not murderers. However, when someone points out to you that there are plenty of hateful and murderous christians, you say that they are not true christians. Sorry, that is a flaw in logic. The people I mentioned are all considered christians. You cannot toss them out of the group because they cast a bad light on the rest of you. Also, you seem to forget that the bible makes mention of these christian soldiers and also there is that lovely hymn that talks of it as well.

All in all, you are just an average christian hypocrite. You attack other religions and religious ideas that do not match your own, yet you call your self a loving christian.

Our way is not the only way.
You can believe in whatever you like but there are limitations.
Government MUST be free of religion.
Education MUST be free of religion.
Young children MUST be free to make up their own minds about religion and not have their parents' beliefs forced upon them.
Relationships with other peoples and their individual lifestyle choices MUST be free of religious intervention.
Now, if that were the case, we'd all get along fine.

Just go to your own question, delete the word atheist and enter the word christian. Then you have it about right.

Then again, as an evident fundamentalist, your mind is closed and you don't really want to hear anything at all that is contrary to your own deluded ideas. Your education is lacking in so many areas and the English language is just one of them. Does this not show us something about you?

Being a person of religion (Christian) myself, I'm going to throw the ball back in our court and say, "Why do some religious people claim that their religion is the only way." In fact, the other day a Christian said "Know God, know peace, no God, no peace." By the way, your question is very generalised, you make it sound as though ALL Atheists are like that and therefore you are making a FALSE statement.

Atheists don't claim that their way is the only way, since atheists don't have a way. They simply lack a belief in god. We do tend to point out that there is no evidence for any religion, but you can't fault us for that because that's absolutely true. There is no evidence, that's why you have faith. Faith is enough for some, it isn't enough for us.

If you want to be honest, it is most religions that claims to have the "only way" to salvation. You might remember this little gem from one of the main characters of your bible: "I am the Way and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."—John 14:6

I think you may be projecting your bad habits onto us, and I would appreciate it if you would please stop. Thanks.

Well, there is a simple answer to that. In order to prove their point they must disprove all other points. Which is why most atheists attack religion and creationism, so they can insert their beliefs or lack of beliefs, as it were.

This is obvious all the time on here. Atheists claim to be the intelligent ones. The smart ones. And anyone that is not an atheist is stupid, ignorant, and a moron. All one needs to do is watch the questions and answers on R&S to prove that point. They claim evolution to be a proven fact, which it is not.
They claim that religion is and always was the cause of all wars, which is an outright lie. They state many others things as being fact that are not facts, this is done to try to prove their superior intelliect. Which, of course, only proves how ridiculous they actually are.

So, if only we would open a biology book, then we would be enlightened to the "truths" of evolution. Which is so funny, in that, even the scientists that study the theory of evolution don't claim their work to be fact. Evolution is based on conclusions and suggestions and absolutely nothing else. Modern day atheists use the theory of evolution as proof that there is no God. Which is, of course, absurd. And with all they talk about and proclaim, they can't understand how most of the world is still religious. I maybe wrong, and maybe there is no God, but the theory of evolution will never prove that.

It's not only Atheists. There are many people all over the world from a variety of religions, who believe that theirs is the only correct one. Everybody has sense of defending their own culture, religion, traditions and beliefs. It's not just a specific group of people.

2007-04-09 01:06:17 · answer #7 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

I think you got it backwards, homey. Atheists typically don't like christians, jews, and muslims because they think their way is the only way. I am none of the above not atheist, christian, jewish, or muslim.
Would it be so awful for an atheist to be equally sure that they're wrong as they are sure they are right?

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. I think this may be a case of the pot calling the kettle black.

"Theorybarker"? Ad Hominen attack/logical fallacy. You are fishing for an answer to prop up what you believe, so why are you bothering to ask? Christians are far more guilty of the act you claim atheists are committing. And you know it.

I don't think they do, for the most part. They are mostly just normal people not trying to force their opinions on everyone else and who don't believe in things that can't be proven.

2007-04-09 01:07:43 · answer #10 · answered by the_emrod 7 · 4 0

Atheists don't. Christians do. Atheists just tell you to BUTT OUT OF OTHER PEOPLES LIVES.

They honestly DO NOT care what your religion is, so long as you keep it to yourself.

Edit: Why do you religious come here daily to pat yourself on the back as to how great you are? Same reason.
