The verb needs 's' after a relative pronoun in one sentence?

It depends on whether the sentence is singular or plural

The man who fights, but the men who fight.
The thing which lasts longest, but the things which last longest.

However, if the sentence is a question, an "s" will be required after a relative pronoun.

Who thinks that this is funny"
Who wants to be a millionaire?

It depends entirely on the context. The verb needs the same endings after a relative pronoun as after a personal pronoun: So if the verb requires an "s" after a personal pronoun, then it also requires it after a relative pronoun:

He reads a books - the man who reads books
The boy has come - the boy who has come,

BUT: He did it - the man who did it

The verb's ending is determined by the antecedent of the relative pronoun.

If the noun to which the relative pronoun refers is singular 3rd. person, then - yes.

E.g. A man THAT (rel. prn.) knows everything thinkS a lot.
The girl, who (re. prn.) wantS to go to the dance, is dressed to kill.

Hope this helps.

Edit: Caicos T's answer is right until he talks about questions - in questions, the pronoun is an INTERRROGATIVE pronoun, not a RELATIVE pronoun. [CT - sorry - you're normally 100% right!]

Well... if the verb refers to a third person singular, e.g.: he, she, or it, then the verb must contain an 's'.

i hope that's what you want
