Because they can no longer torture and murder non-believers like they did in the Crusades and the Burning Times. At least nowadays they just stick their fingers in their ears and yell "NA NA NA NA NA NA NA" instead of the past when they would grab firewood.

All religions claim to be the true religion.
I am a Christian. I like Christianity because the God of Christianity is a personal God that is approachable, and that knows you as a person, by name. He loved us so much, that he actually became one of us for a time, and died to save us from ourselves. All we need to do to benefit from that is that we voluntarily through our free will allow Him into our lives.
Does Christianity claim exclusivity, IOW claim that it is true? Yes, it does:
John 14:6
"Jesus said to him, I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except through Me."
And I sincerely believe that. But that doesn't mean that people who aren't Christian are automatically going to go to hell. Paul writes that good men of good conscience who obey their own natural law of what is good, even if they have no knowledge of Jesus Christ, will be saved. People who, on the other hand, have heard the message but reject it, or that on some level know that it is right but hypocritaclly do not follow it, will be judged accordingly by God.
I am a Christian, but I have spent my whole life studying *all* religions, including taking university courses on them, and am well versed on most of them, even Wicca, voodoo, etc. Not all Christians are ignorant of other beliefs, but rather, make a conscious choice to believe what they believe.

it is not just Chrisitans who proclaim their religion is the only true one. Every religion proclaims theirs is the true one.
I myself are Christian, and i dont know about how any other religions spiritualise people. I myself know that God is powerful and real. When we pray we can feel him there.
In some of the most emotional prayers, i have seen people on the floor, not being able to move at all because his presence is sooooo strong!
hope this helps! :P

True Christianity is not a religion. Religion was created by man to try to reach a god or god like state. Christians proclaim there is ONE God and one only. That is the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob, the God of the bible. So how can you expect us to respect any other so called god when they do not exist?

Well, Muslims do too, don't they?
It's a quirk that gets them in hot water a lot. It's not simply that they know very little about others. Some are really very knowledgeable. It's that they have so little respect for others.

Good question, but what I find even more amazing is the animosity that christians have for christians of other denominations ( or in the case of baptists, even of other congrugations). If there was a christian god, he would be weeping.
