Jews believe that God appointed the Jews to be his chosen people in order to set an example of holiness and ethical behaviour to the world.
The Jewish relationship with God is a covenant relationship.

The basic difference is the term "messiah." Jews had long believed they would eventually have a hero or leader of some sort which they used the term messiah to describe. Christians say Jesus was/is this messiah, while Jews are still waiting.
Interesting that you mention the Star of David specifically, since Jesus was of the house and lineage of David, according to the Bible.
But the six-pointed star is important to many people as the union of an upward-pointing equilateral triangle representing masculine forces and a downward-pointing one representing feminine forces.
Make of that what you will.

i in my opinion hear this lots around my acquaintances whilst they discover out that i'm Jewish. collectively as i think of that my faith is the genuine faith, I realize it isn't the only non secular direction. Judaism is crammed with regulations and rules. it is not only a faith - that's a existence-style - alongside with that of the Amish. collectively as i might want to think of that everybody can and can be Jewish - the straightforward fact of the issue is that not everybody can stay and actually appreciate Jewish regulation. consequently, i think of that's extremely significant that people who want to transform to Judaism not only totally understand what they are entering into - yet that they are thoroughly waiting for the conversion. For all of people who say Judaism is an "unique" faith - it is not. there is surely no way of understanding a hundred% if our roots are organic Jewish roots. we at the instant are not a race, we are a faith and a non secular direction. collectively as we don't brazenly propose Judaism it is not because of the fact we don't settle for converts with open hands - this is because of the fact we understand that not everyone may well be Jewish. i've got been Jewish all my existence and there are days as quickly as I conflict with Jewish regulation and ceremony.

The Jewish faith teaches that Jesus, if he existed, could not have been the Messiah, since he didn't do all the things the messiah was supposed to do. i.e. peace on earth, rebuilding the temple...... and other stuff i forgot.
Christianity teaches that Jesus did fulfill the requirements for the messiah, just metaphorically. Like for example where he tells them to tear down thetemple. and in three days he would raise it again. Of course they didn't. But Christians think of the temple as Jesus himself. He rose three days later. And stuff likethat. all metaphorical.

Jesus was a Hebrew. The Jewish religion teaches that Jesus was just a prophet and we must look for the real Messiah.
Whilst, Christianity believes Jesus is that messiah and thus Jesus Christ=the bases of Christianity.

Our roots are Jewish. Jesus was a Jew. After the Temple was destroyed in 70AD, the Jewish Christians had fled from Jerusalem. As they multiplied in their belief the Church became mainly gentile, (non-Jews) and were admitted without circumcision etc. Those Jews who did not believe Jesus was the Messiah reorganised themselves and have handed down what the Jews of today believe. There are some who call themselves Messianic Jews and do believe that Jesus is the Messiah, but they have their own form of worship.

Judaism is about living Life here on earth and about making it a better place for all mankind. Anyone can become a Jew, but it's not necessary to be one for any special reward -- all the righteous of the nations have a share in the world to come. Jews have a covenant with God to work with Him as a community to finish His creation here on earth. The key word here is "community."
Christianity is about personal salvation and going through an intermediary (Jesus) to be closer to God. The ultimate reward for a Christian is personal salvation in the afterlife (if there is one). They believe God has finished His creation and are awaiting the end of days.

Ok the God of the Jews created everything including the garden of Eden and everything you have heard, the devil tricked eve in the garden and God told the devil right then that he would send a savoiur into the world and heal what the devil did to them, so 4 thousand years went by and Jesus shows up as the savoiur that God had predicted all through the bible, and it was him manifested as Jesus to tell us how to get back to heaven for eternal life, that's how we know because we can get his holy spirit right now, the reason we harp that its Jesus is because God set it up that you can only get his spirit in Jesus name, so it is the same God and he made a way to be a child of the living God by his spirit and that comes only in Jesus name, Now the Jews don't believe this yet the the bible tells us that God has hardened their hearts to it for a period of time so the gospel of Jesus goes around the world and then he would awaken them to who Jesus is. Read this web page and see his spirit and ask Jesus for it and you will get to know the one true God' of both Jews and Christians:

The Jews wanted to be lead by a King of Israel. A Jewish King that would kill Persians, Syrians, Egyptians, Romans.
Jesus, as the *son of God* was the very essence of God himself and refused to kill anybody.
The Jews wanted Jesus, as their *King* to kill their enemies.
The Jews denied Christ because Jesus was not a violent murderer that they wanted him to be.
You must understand that Jews, by the time Jesus had appeared, were already a persecuted tribe, suffering hundreds of years of slavery. They wanted revenge. But Jesus was not vengeful. So the Jews put him to death.
