Sarcasm has got to be one of the number ones. It shows intelligence, attention, sense of humor, situational awareness, wryness, and everything else that opens the door to the mind.

Sarcasm in itself is not unattractive in males or females,
it depends on the degree of sarcasm and of the frequency.
Personally I enjoy a bit of give and take in a conversation.
But anybody who exaggerates in a certain attitude runs the
risk of being considered a bore by the others,
People who are always overly optimistic, friendly, right,
sarcastic , happy , complaining will drive me crazy in the
long run.
To me it also seems that anybody who keeps up an attitude
like that is too self centered and does not take other people
into consideration, and that makes them very unattractive
to me.
Sarcasm is a useful conversation tool, not an end in itself.
At least you are aware you are almost always sarcastic, so
you can tone it down a little, some people remain in the dark!.

Any personal quality (virtue, character trait, strength, etc.), taken to its' extreme, becomes a weakness!

I think it has to do with balance--- a sarcastic approach only is very distasteful, tacky and crass; however, an occasional line done tongue in cheek can really add to conversation and give insight. For me, the key is whether the sarcasm is well balanced with sensitivity, warmth, care and compassion. It's easy to enjoy and even overlook occasional biting sarcasm if the person is generally warm, open, sensitive and caring: it's hard to see sarcasm as attractive if it's the main way of connecting with others, especially when it actually creates distance and is a barrier to intimacy.

I think sarcasm is unattractive in men and women alike. It basically says to me that the individual being sarcastic can't be genuine enough to not mask their emotions,.

I reckon it would be a major 'turn-off' for most guys. Even the girls would get tired of it after a while, if it's a constant part of your life.
It's a good way to drive people away from you.
Work out why you feel the need to be sarcastic: what's driving those feelings and responses, and be prepared to turn negatives into positives. You'll thank yourself for it and these around you who care (about you) will also appreciate it. :)

Hi Megan, I think that there is a thin line between sassy and sarcastic. i know that my sense of humor is different and i love to quip and make people smile. I never want to hurt anyone. I'm sure you feel the same way,or you wouldn't be asking this question.I think that spark of sassy life attracts people,we just have to learn to control our enthusiasm.

Yes. Coz i know people who love to be sarcastic are people who have inferiority in their self. Most of the cases are they want to prevent themselves from getting hurt (again)..
