none of the breeds common in the US, there is some rare breed in northeren europe of baltic regions of russia that is very agressive and hard to train don't I cannot recall the name.

But if we were talking about fercious per pound some of the toy breeds would win hands down, thankgoodness they come in small packages and not able to do much damage

Bit of a foolish question - do you mean an individual dog? Due to the fact that you cannot name a breed as 'the most ferocious' - all animals are individuals, and it relies how they're introduced up as to what they are like, just like us! You wouldn't title a race of humans 'probably the most ferocious' - or you'd get lynched! Should be the equal with animals. The breeds all listed by other users are on the unsafe puppies record on the grounds that they're more challenging to train and are therefore regarded obviously to end up ferocious when you consider that there are such a lot of irresponsible/ignorant homeowners in the market. Bit of a silly question - do you mean an individual dog? Because you can't name a breed as 'the most ferocious' - all animals are individuals, and it depends how they are brought up as to what they're like, just like us!

You wouldn't name a race of humans 'the most ferocious' - or you'd get lynched! Should be the same with animals.

The breeds all listed by other users are on the Dangerous Dogs List because they are more challenging to train and are therefore considered most likely to turn out ferocious because there are so many irresponsible/ignorant owners out there.

No bad dogs just BAD owners. when people get dogs they get what they like not thinking about what that cute puppy will turn in to....for some reason ppl think little dogs with agression problems are cute....and when the powerful breeds are puppies they don't get the training needs...cause some ppl go back to think ohhh look cute puppy puppies can't show agression???yeah right.
It is called proper training for any dog. big or small...I have said it before the nasties are the small little ones they might not do much damage but they are the ones that come in with more problems.

And owners are the ones who make a vicious dog...(or bad breeding).

A cane corso or a presa canario are two of the most ferocioes. In the case where the woman was mauled to death a couple of years ago when she stepped off the elevator in her apartment complex, the two dogs were presa/mastiff mixes. But with proper training and socialization they can do okay. But these breeds are often unpredictable and better left to very experienced handlers.

It's the evil little chihuahua that lives down the road from me. Okay, I think there is something called an akita or Japanese fighting dog that is supposed to be super-aggressive. Fila Brazileiro, Dogo Argentino, Japanese Tosa, and American Pit Bulls get a pretty bad press too.

well the main ones that are banned for having a vicious streak are pit bull terrier, Japanese tosa, dogo Argentino, and fila Brasiliero but nay dog can be made nasty ferocious its all in the training of the animals. these outlined above tend to just flip like they have something that triggers in there mind and are normally hopless cases. i have friends with the pit bull type dogs and they are as soft as a teddy so like i said all in the training!

Japanese tosa, known as the Japanese fighting dog
but it does actually depend how you bring a dog up to whether or not it is ferocious
I have a Japanese akita & she & no others I have known are ferocious, she is really soft, it comes down to breeding & training

I bet that on your list of ideas, Pit Bull is number one? Well this question has no answer because no breed of dog is naturally fierce - it's the owners who make the dog fierce and scary. Just to whoever answers 'Pit Bull', I suggest you go read the temperament of the dog and read a few things that Pit Bull owners have to say about the breed. No dog is born fierce or dangerous (unless bred by a moron who let two aggressive dogs mate), it's the owners who make them that way.

by nature, a japanese akita or tosa inu as they have been bred for fighting. but dogs will generally only act violently if they are trained/encoraged to do so. dogs who are bred for fighting, such as akitas and pit bulls, are more likely to be violent which is entirely the fault of humans.
