I am currently receiving SS retirement benefits (age 70). I recently lost sight in one eye due to a "retinal stroke." According to doctors and specialists, the damage is permanent. Are there any available additional benefits (SS or CA)?

You would have to submit the extra costs for your care to the benefits office of your plan and ask them what extra benefits you are available to. If you are on disability and your disability worsens and you need additional medical, it is or is partially covered by your disability but only if it is a cause or direct result from your previous injury. Take care Heather

I think in the UK there are extra benefits for the blind and partially blind, try checking here: http://www.devon.gov.uk/reg-blind-or-ps-jun2004.pdf
