The first outbreak usually occurs anywhere from 2-20 days after being infected. For some people though, the virus can lay dormant for a long time, like months or even years.

I have personally had genital herpes for about 6 years now. My first outbreak occurred about a week after I became infected with it.

Usually, your first outbreak will appear after about 2 weeks of contracting the virus. And apparently the first one would be the worst. Overtime, the frequency and severity should decrease. If it's on your mouth...use Abreva. if it's down there go to a doctor and get a prescription...something like Valtrex.

Simple question, don't wait. Many STD's don't show up symptoms. STD's can be dorminat for a while until whenever. Whenever means the STD can wake up from dormancy from stress and all that.

Simply...Just get a STD test. Don't wait for symptoms, which they can appear in months...Maybe year. It's said that HIV/AIDS shouldnt be determined in symptoms. I found it relavent to this post because HIV/AIDS have simlar symptoms to MANY other STD's. Don't wait.....
