Hi Michele, while smoking surely is a contributing factor to heart disease and/or heart attack, it is not the only risk to consider. Genetic makeup, stress, overall health, weight and many more health factors may be responsible. Your age is another thing that should not be considered a sole reason for heart health problems. People as young as teenagers as well as people in their late 80s could suffer a heart attack just the same. If you experience problems and are unsure what it is, please see a doctor, better yet, proceed to the nearest ER. It could be as simple as "heatburn" or "gas" causing these problems but it could also be of a more serious nature. Praying for a less serious outcome and wishing you the best. MsB.

CONGRATS on quitting smoking. MOVE FORWARD and reward yourself for taking a great step for a healthier life. you did what you did, now you need to continue making good decisions. there are people who smoke into their 90's. just keep working on your health and turn it around. enjoy every day and when it's your time, it's your time.

well there are alot of more factors than just your age and smoking all thought thats a huge part. you also have genetics to thank for heart attacks. weight.......stress blood pressure.......

family history of heart trouble has a lot to do with this matter where you stopped smoking helps you a lot . in my opion/
