It means you did not have any testable virus in your body fluid where they took the culture. It does not necessarily mean you don't have it because the virus resides in nerve roots when dormant, not in the bloodstream.

I got diagnosed with herpes (type 2) about four years ago, whilst I was still attending college and had a silly one-night stand. I know a lot of people say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a huge mistake that one time and all of a sudden I felt like I was going to have to live with the implications for the rest of my life. The hardest part was feeling I could never date guys again. In the end, who wants to go out with a girl that has sores around her "you know what" area? But since a friend shared this movie https://tr.im/22ZKG everything improved.
Not only was I able to eradicate all remnants of the herpes simplex virus from my body in less than 3 weeks, but I was also able to begin dating again. I even met the man of my dreams and I'm so lucky to write that just a week ago, in front of everyone in a crowded restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me! This method provided the chance to be happy and experience true love again. Now I hope that I can help others by sharing this story.

"herpes simplex" is the form of herpes that is found in "cold sores"on the mouth and lips, herpes type 1. Herpes 2 is the STD type. It means you have no active herpes 1 virus involvement with the tissues they swabbed and cultured.Take care SW FNP

It means the culture was negative for that virus. If you indeed have it the culture didn't detect it. If you don't know if you have it then this test says you don't have it.

Assuming that the microbiology swab was correctly collected by the clinician, and that it appropriately sampled the "lesion" at the correct time in the viral cycle, then "no isolate" means that the organism was not identified in the viral culture procedure in the laboratory.
