for the "gay gene" (assuming that the gene exists and that we someday can test for it, like we currently do for Downs Syndrome)
1. If you think it’s okay, why?
2. If you DON”T think it’s okay, why?
3. Do you consider yourself pro-life or pro-choice?

Careful with the hypocrisy. If you're so pro-choice, then what gives you the right to determine what is or is not an "acceptable" reason for a woman to abort her unborn child?
The current state of affairs is abortion-on-demand, meaning that a pregnant mother can have an abortion for any reason under the sun OR for NO reason except that she wants to.
For the record, I am staunchly pro-life in ALL cases (and yes, I mean ALL)

I guess I just find it interesting that Liberals/gays/feminists have screamed for decades that “a woman has a right to do whatever she wants with her body”, but now that there’s a possibility of a pre-natal test for homosexuality, there’s only ONE reason in the entire world that it is NOT ok to kill a pre-born child. As the pro-aborts are fond of saying regularly “Who are YOU to decide for ANY woman what to do with her body?” But, oh, it’s still ok to kill a pre-born child because he or she will grow up poor or fatherless or adopted or with a mental or physical disability?
I am laughing my butt off at some of the comments from “pro-choice” people who are also “pro-gay”. Some of their words are verbatim from pro-life organization sites. They fail to see the irony in their "suddenly offended by abortion" objections.

I wonder what you think about this; if aborting an unborn baby because it may be gay is offensive to gay people, isn't aborting an unborn baby because it may be disabled offensive to disabled people? And if that's a basis for decrying the use of those reasons for abortion, what makes any other reason acceptable?
I guess I'm saying that you're either pro-choice or pro-life, and there's no in between. To waffle is to be afraid to take a stand for your principles.
Although I am staunchly pro-life, I give thumbs-up to ALL who professed a consistent and non-hypocritical stance on the subject of my question. You either think abortion is ALWAYS OK, or you believe that it's always NOT ok. Period.
If you're waffling, you need to re-examine your beliefs, do some research, and choose a side.

OMG, so many people on this site are so STUPID.
Whether being gay is a defect or not is a matter of personal opinion. A woman could consider her unborn baby being female a "defect" and abort for that reason, and most people would be horrified. Again, it all comes down to personal opinion, so when gays scream foul about only this one particular reason for having an abortion, then it's the height of hypocrisy. According to their previously professed beliefs, it is a woman's personal decision, but now gays are trying to pass legislation protecting gay fetuses from being aborted. Amazing. How about protecting ALL unborn babies from being aborted? If aborting gay fetuses is offensive to gay people, then isn't aborting poor babies offensive to poor people, or disabled babies offensive to disabled people, or fatherless babies offensive to fatherless people, or babies with a gene for depression offensive to the millions of people who suffer from depression, ......

No, I don't. On the same ticket, I don't think it's right to abort a child who has Down's Syndrome either. I guess I lean more towards Pro-life.

You just want info on the gay gene their is no real gene for it and it is not really a disease. A hormone test might tell something, but thier are degrees of gayness. Some females who are straight have mannly tendancies, but I do not think we should kill them for it. Some striaght males have feminie tendancies, but I do not think we should kill them for it. I was working as a janitor while I was going to college and there was a guy that would always wait to take his shower. Usually it was about the time I had to clean. Then I had a mojor oopps moment and saw why it was he took his shower when he did.
He was a guy with girl parts and I really felt sorry for him because he did not have the freedom to do all the things he wanted to because if others had known he would have been picked on horribley. I think people put way too much emphisis on sexual orientation and it should be what is in a persons heart that matters the most.
Well in some cases I am pro-choice, because I have seen mothers that have had babies so deformed that they would have been born dead anyway and it would have killed the mother to have them. So in cases like that I think it is up to the mother to do what she thinks is best.
Then there are some cases like my child they said all through the pregnacy she would be healthy, but she was born with a heart deffect. I did everything I could to have a healthy baby and still she was born with a heart defect and I did not know it was my genes on my mothers side that caused it. She smiled all the time and was a very happy baby she hardly ever cried. Before her surgery she started to tire easily and you could tell if they did not do anything she would die. After the surgery seeing her smile again was worth saving her life and now she is two and she is smarter than any ordinary two year old that I know. So for me I'm pro-life, but just raise your children to smile more and the world would be better off for it.

Okay assuming thatt this gene did exist..
I would not abort. I personally dont believe in gay marriage myself but I do not frown down on them. They are people too and they are no different than me,but they like the same sex. I have a 7 week old daughter and if someday she came and told me she was Gay. I would just hug her and continue to love her because she is my daughter and Its her choice not mine. I would consider myself Pro-Life. I believe a baby is a baby from the time it is concieved. I seen my baby at 6 weeks and yes there was no baby just a small black dot but there was a heartbeat. How can anything with a heartbeat be considered a fetus?? I was raped when I was 15 and i didnt end up pregnant and im thankful for that but I still do not believe I would have aborted maybey adoption. The only time I would consider abortion would be early in the pregnancy and the doc told me the baby and me would die. When I had my daughter I had it drawn up that she came first. I refused a amnio because I left it in Gods Hands. I wanted my child. Nothing in this world was gonna make me abort after hearing my daughters heartbeat. At 12 weeks I had another ulrasound and she just had little nubs for arms and legs but she was still a baby not a fetus. I cannot stand that word. Do they call it a fetus to help them feel better about destroyng a innocent life?? That fetus as they call it is another hug that someone misses out on. Another I love you that is never said.
One more heart that was stopped. Two more eyes that will never see.Two more hands that will never touch.
Two more legs that will never run.One more mouth that will never speak. I think abortion for most is the easy way out. And it kills me when women have more than one. There are free clinics for birth control and still we are having so many abortions now. My grandmother had 6 kids and she said not many women had abortions back then. So why is it so easy to do it now? It scares me. Im afraid that my daughter will turn 15 and get pregnant and take the easy way out since its simple now a days. Why not adoption? There are wonderful people out there dying for a baby. Sorry to rant and rave but this kills me especially when I look into my daughters face.. Thankful for her i chose to give her life. Not take the easy way out. She wasnt planned. Im only 21 and havent finished school. I am engaged to her father and he is wonderful with her but I donnot regret it for a second and if I dont get all I want in life than it will be okay because I gave her a life and that I would consider my greatest accomplishment, becoming a mommy for the first time..

If there was a "gay gene" wouldn't it eventually die out, or, at the very least, become extremely rare?
And no, I think aborting a child due to a test result is playing God. And no matter what the result, you can't know for certain until the child is born.
And if you don't like the result, put the kid up for adoption. Someone would be extremely happy to have any child, gay or straight.
I'm pro-life for myself-I don't think abortion should be a form of birth control, there are so many different ways to prevent pregnancy, and there is always Plan B for those who slip up or are assaulted-abortion is a lot harder than taking a couple of pills to start your period (and 10 times the cost). However, I also believe that it's not my place to tell someone else that they can't have one. (Unless it's one of those partial-birth things-by then it's too late in the game to change your mind, just have it and put it up for adoption, and if your life is at risk, have it delivered early via c-section and give your kid a chance).

Having a child be gay isn't a disability. If that is the only reason that someone would abort a child is completely insane. I personally wouldn't abort a child, but I think it's okay if you won't be able to provide for the child or if you aren't ready for one. Providing for a gay child isn't any different than providing for a straight child. I am Pro-Choice.

I do believe that women should be allowed to terminate a pregnancy for whatever reason they deem fit. I'd rather a child not be raised by people who are too inept or uncaring to love their child. I do understand that some folks terminate pregnancies when birth defects are present in an infant but unless it's one that would absolutely mean the child's immediate death after birth I don't personally feel I'd go that route. However, since I am pro choice if you don't want a child FOR WHATEVER REASON please do that child and yourself a favor and either move toward a speedy adoption or terminate the pregnancy.

first off no it wouldn't be OK...no matter what side of the road you're on you are still a human being....as for developing a test lol the down syndrome test is still unreliable as many years as its been around..I have seen many new mothers be told their child would have downs syndrome and the child came out perfectly healthy..for those of you who think it would be OK ask yourself this....how many children wouldn't be born just because their mothers believed in an inaccurate test?

that's such a gay reason to abort and unborn baby. i could never live with myself if i ever aborted my unborn baby EXCEPT if it was a medical emergency only. such as my life or the baby's. [ i would choose to still try and have my baby.] i think abortion should be made totally illegal in every state and country.

You can be pro-choice and think it's not okay to abort sometimes- just that the law shouldn't enforce your particular belief. Not all things that I think are immoral should be illegal too.
