A vegan eats absolutely NO animal products, including milk and eggs. A vegetarian may eat some animal products -- like eggs which don't kill the chicken, but not the chicken, for example. It is more complicated to be a vegan as there are eggs and/or dairy products in most baked goods -- even in margarine (whey -- from milk). So they have special recipes with substitutes. It takes real dedication. A vegan also has to be conscious of vitamins -- particularly B 12 which is found only in animal products -- and make sure to get enough.

Vegans do not eat anything that comes from an animal - eggs, dairy, honey, seafood - nothing that is considered an animal by product.

Vegetarians will eat dairy - eggs, yogurt and milk.
Strict Vegetarians will only eat plant foods and honey - they are one step closer to becoming a Vegan!

In the book it states there are "Breatharians" which is you guessed it - they only live off of AIR! LOL!

This book helped me when I met my husband he is a vegetarian and I wanted a better understanding what it really was - plus it helped me to become vegetarian myself - but if you read this book I am acutally classified as a "pollo vegetarian" - I still eat chicken on occasion. But no red meat.

they are different. A vegetarian eats no meat. there are different levels though. Some vegetarians eat no meat but consider eggs, and dairy products like cheese and milk ok. Some pass on eggs but think dairy products are ok beause they aren't directly an animal. Some even consider fish to be ok. Vegans however don't eat any animal products, including gelatin or any dairy products. If it has anything to do with an animal it's not ingested.

In India Vegetarian(Based on Religious-Hindu,Buddhists &Jains) concepts are those one who do not eat any meat, egg, and fish.Milk they drink because there is no killing of an animal and some people who own cows drink one nipple milk alone and leave the milk from the other 3 nipples for the calf. Religious Vegetarians don't eat Egg because they feel that egg embryo is "life".But recently some people argue that in unfertilised egg there is no "Life" and call it as "Vegetarian egg" just as "Organic vegetables" are becoming popular. Some vegetarians were not taking "white sugar" because animal charcoal (especially Dog's bone charcoal) was used for declourisation and they took "Unrefined sugar".But Carbination(animal charcoal) process is totally replaced by Sugar industries by "Sulphination"(using SO2 gas) process ,because it is cost effective.

The concept of "Vegans" is only a Western concept not based on Religeon but on the fear of Cardio/cerebro vascular accidents and Cancer(especially colon)

Vegans don't believe in killing animals and consuming their flesh or using any part of an animal for any kind of product. What they don't realize is plastics were once living things.
Vegetarians will only consume plants but will use animal products for clothing, etc.
