yes, i have had this before and my doc said it was a cyst. well i kept messing with it until i got it all drained out and it has never came back but it took me along time to drain., IT HURT. I had to be careful tho didn't want to get staff infection. I would suggest leaving it alone. cause it could get infected!! I just couldn't stand it being there but I would not try what i did at home lol

It's not a stupid question. I worry about things like that, too. I've had cysts down there before that sound a lot like what you're describing. Even pimples can occur in that area, and they can feel a little hard and strange in that area. I would wait a few days and see if it goes down or goes away. If it does, I'd guess it was a pimple or a cyst. If it sticks around, I'd get it checked out. It could be a wart, which, though unpleasant, at least isn't dangerous. (The strain of HPV that causes warts is not the same strain that causes cervical cancer.) Anyway, If it's there longer than a week, I'd definitely get it checked out, just to be safe.

Relax...If you are a lady below age 25, that pea size hardness that comes and goes, is surely a Bartholin gland.
Those gland produce mucus and are located at the entrance of the vagina, and produce mucus (one of very many that lubricate the vagina) and it fluctuates in functions with the hormonal cycle that gives the menses.
When they are plugged by hard mucus, or small amounts of cell or sebum debris, they accumulate mucus from time to time, and you feel a small "hard marble" between the big and small lipe of the vagina. (Vulva).
It has nothing to do with HIV or cancer....Oh dear, if things were as simple as that.
It must be taken out under local anesthesia by your gynecologist, and its compulsory for the doctor to get it analyzed under the micoscope, just to be 100% sure.
By the way, Bartholin cysts, for some unknown reasons are noticed and the frequency is more than twice in dark skinned (african american girls) than fair skinned ones.
It (the cyst) is more of a nuisance than a real disease.
My advice is fro you to calm down, you have a common condition, however it is advisable to have it removed.
If you are the nervous type, besides the local anesthesia, a mild sedative is given IM (Valium 10 mg for examle) no problem.

Relax. Have you ever noticed how your vagina has pores/bumps that sometimes produce discharge? These will occasionally get infected. It could also be an ingrown hair, or a Bartholin's cyst. If it doesn't clear up in a while, then you would need to go to the gyno to get it checked.

There are a few possibilities.

Small growths called lipomas (and others) can be found under the skin anywhere. Not harmful.

Obstructed gland is likely. If it becomes painful, a physician can help. Might go away on its own. Not a big deal.

Serious tumor. Not likely. Don't worry about this anymore than worrying about a pop machine falling on you.

This sounds like a ingrown hair to me. This is what you do. Make sure that you take a shower in the morning, after work, and right before you go to bed. You don't have to wash your hair each time but wash down there. This will make sure no more infection get in there. Then you want to not touch it Your oils in you skin will transfer to it and get it more infected. Right before you go to bed as well, put a hot rag on your vaginal area to rise the inground hair pocket out to see if will come out itself. If it doesn't come out by itself or go away with in 1 week. Then go ahead and try to get it out yourself. Good luck!

someone told me a story a few months ago about something like that, It really blew me away that she would tell me something like that, hers started out that way and her bump between her Virgina kept growing for over ten years and the doctors didn't know what to do for her and she found one that just kept draining the puss for her, it finally went away on it's own after ten years, she said it was like a balloon and it really hurt and that she didn't have any diseases, that's so unimaginable, you should really get yourself checked out quick. They think what caused it was all from an ingrown pubic hair.

do you mean like on your labia minora? it could just be a swollen bartholin's gland, they have a duct that secretes a fluid that acts as a lubricant and contains pheremones(scent attractants for males), and sometimes they get clogged and swell up, and can eventually form a cyst.

read here and see if this sounds like it,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bartholin_glands if it is, put a hot compress on it and rub it in a hot bath, and make a gyno appt just to be safe.

Those things come and go. You just got checked, you are fine. It's like a clogged pore, or infected hair. Leave it alone, it will go away in a couple days.

i have suffered with these since the age of nine...i was certainly NOT sexually active then!...they are cysts and now i suffer with ingrown hairs...the latter i squeeze out...the former are a little harder to deal with due to the area they are in but one way is to soak in a hot bath...as hot as you can bear...this will bring the cyst to a head and hopefully the core will become visible and you just squeeze it out...it hurts, but not as much as if you leave it, so grin (or not!) and bear it...good luck...x
