what kind of bad attitude? like yelling at people or just not wanting to do things with your family?

Uncontrolled blood sugars can affect your moods, though I wouldn't exactly say they cause a bad attitude. When my sugar levels were to high it made my depression worse because I felt tired and sick all of the time. Once I started using insulin I felt better both physically and mentally. When my levels get too low I do get a little testy until I have eaten and I am back at a normal level. The "bad attitude" you are referring to, I believe, has nothing to do with the disease but with a person's anger at having to live a controlled, balanced lifestyle. No one likes to be told what to eat and how much they should exercise.

be for i found out i was diabetic i was all ways in a bad mood yelling at my kids and wanting to sleep all the time, couldn't focus my eyes and having to go to the bathroom all the time (every twenty min)i finally went to my doc after a month or so going thru this, and my sugar was so high he told me that by all medical books and what he knew about diabetes that i should not have been standing there talking to him.after i got on medication and started taking better care of myself i felt allot better.now when my sugar levels get up i do get kinda of nasty and i get tired.and after felling like that for a wile i get cranky.i have been on insulin and pills and both at the same time and when i don't feel good I'm in a bad mood.i guess it just depends on the person.good luck.Chris

That's probably coming from folks who are having a tough time dealing with their diabetes. Not only do I have a great attitude, most of the time, I don't use insulin. It has a lot to do with how well you take care of yourself. ♥Peachy♥™

I have had diabetes for several years now. I was never grumpy before I was put on insulin. But since I was put on insulin, I started gaining weight. A doctor told me that insulin does that.

This usually happens when a persons sugar level is too high they need insulin and sometimes their low sugar level could make them act strange and feel a bit distant and may appear strange or aggresive. When injected with insulin it takes a while for it to work and then they slowly return to normal sometimes not knowing what has just happened

This "bad attitude" means they're grumpy and likely to take it out on other people. It's caused by their blood sugar. If it's high or low, a diabetic isn't going to be all that happy...

Variations in blood glucose levels can indeed affect your mood. For example when I have a hypo I tend to get 'snappy and irritable' which is not done through choice, but everything seems to be against me. Of course once my BG levels stablise I'm back to normal

Yes. I had the same problem. In my 36th week, I decided to treat myself one day to some carbs. I had a Doctor's appointment and my indulgence raised my daughter's heart rate. So....I never did that again. Hang in there! Try snacking/grazing rather than eating 3 big meals.
