Not much you can do apart from rely on modern science until the child is at least 6-8 years old. then you can learn the Buteyko method. It takes practice and dedication, and the theory is a bit loopy, but it definitely works. We had some small success with baby massage and chiropracty, but it didn't last, maybe good for 6 weeks, then never worked again.

the meds prescribed are the best for the baby. making a change because of your ignorance to the actions of the meds may be considered neglect in the courts if your child dies from an asthma attack. it is unfortunate that you have never had difficulty breathing or you could appreciate the need for the meds. when your child is an adult, he/she can choose how best to treat the symptoms. till then, the baby is dependent on you to make decisions that are best. speak to a pediatric pulmonologist about your concerns.
