This idea just hit me--while Abraham was busy creating God in his own image, did he decide that people were created as kind of pets for God, since humans domesticated different types of animals for different purposes? What do you think?

Abraham was a 'patriarch' who went to murder his own son to 'prove' that he loved God; God reportedly murdered HIS son to 'prove' that he loves us . . . Abraham gets angry and lashes out at people . . . so does the God of the bible.

Now, if you think about it, doesn't the way we're supposed to treat God sound a lot like how our dogs treat us?

This "god" of religions sure did. The only thing it forgot was to give us all a rabies vaccination, which is probably the reason why we all "bark" so much at each other.........

Only GOD knows that answer. Prehaps he knew how fast eve would give in to temptation. So he created Adam first to name all the animals and do what work he was to do before Eve. GOD also did it to get man to realize that he can not o things on his own. GOD did not create eve until Adam noticed he had no mate like the other animals. Adam started to feel lonely it was then that GOD created Eve. It was not all about sex either. Marraige is more then just about sex. Its about having a person who completes you a help meet. By our self we are not complete but with the right mate we can be complete. GOD said it is not good that man should be alone.

Abraham created God in his own image... interesting theory... sounds wrong but imaginative nonetheless.

No. Where is that idea actually supported in the bible?

The bible that I read does not have God treated or viewing humans as some sort of pets.

Maybe you should read more and talk/write less.

Its a thought! and you are fully enjoying the gift of free will :)

However a more educated approach to this questions might help you understand why humans were created or any other being for that matter. Thanks.

Its possible, but we communicate and care for our animals. It seems that god does not care about us.

I guess that would make sense. Interesting theory.
