You didn't specify "over the counter" or dr. ordered/ I used to take Ambien, but they would only pay for like 10 days worth at my monthly charge. I switched to Ambien CR, which lasts longer, and I see a big difference. You need a prescription for those. As for over the counter, I always fall back on Tylenol PM, it's one of the few that hasn't gotten warnings as long as you follow the directions, and I think it works, the Tylenol, helps any headache or stress while the sleeping med helps you knock out. Hope this was a help. BTW Ambien.com has a coupon for the CR, if you decide on that.

You can't get a powerful sleeping tablet without a prescription from the doctors. But you can buy Melatonin Tablets, they really help get you on track with sleeping problems.

My husband has tried a few prescription sleeping pills and the one he likes best is Ambien as it does not leave you feeling dopey when you wake up. He has problems sleeping because after his amputation he has general fears and is anxiety ridden. You don't mention the cause of your sleepliness...do you know ??? Is it something like anxiety which keeps you awake...or is it general pain or discomfort...Depression...?? If you know you should work on the symthom....not just overcoming the signs....You will surely be a healthier and happier person after wards...Good Luck, my heart goes out to you.

TRAZODONE 50mg/ Generic For: Desyrel I take only a half and I sleep all night take an hour before you want to sleep, you can wake up with a sleep hangover but oddly enough, take a shower and BANG your awake, you have to get a Doctor to approve it. Good Dreams!

Melatonin tablets would probably be safest and with least chance of side effects. You may try Mersyndol which has a muscle relaxant, available from your pharmacy.

Sleeping pills cannot be prescribed like this and for that matter, cannot be sold by the medical shop without a valid prescription.
