It can take several months and even years for a person to have an outbreak of genital warts. Sometimes a person with HPV will NEVER get warts. It depends if you carry a kind of HPV that can cause warts.

I have had HPV for over 6 years now. I developed genital warts from it about a year ago. It took me 5 years to develop genital warts from my HPV!

HPV can lie dormant in your body for x amount of years. You may never have a breakout again. It's mainly based on your immune system as well.
