Heart palpitations and dizziness are signs of B12 deficiency. Other symptoms are headaches and migraines, fatigue and exhaustion, depression, head and hand sweats, irritability and moodiness and even chest pains !! Not pretty is it??

You need to increase your intake of foods rich in this vitamin ie: yeast, liver, eggs, milk, cheese and fish, kidney and pork.

The recommended daily intake for pregnant women is 2.2mcg .

B12 helps to maintain a healthy nervous system, increase energy levels, improve concentration, memory and balance.

When we are under extra stress the body will use more of the B group of vitamins. As it is a water soluble group of vitamins we need to replenish it on a daily basis. The body cannot produce or store them. Go see your Doctor as well and mention what I have told you to him, he will confirm it. There's really nothing for you to worry about. If you are a vegetarian you'll really need to get yourself a really good multivitamin supplement with all the B vitamins in it. Don't buy the B vitamins individually as they work best as a group.

Your pregnancy may be the key. You may be developing a hiatal hernia (pressure from the growing baby/uterus can push your stomach up through the 'hiatus' (opening) in the diaphragm muscle (your major breathing muscle) into the mediastinum (the area where the heart is). This can put pressure on the heart and induce tachycardia.

If you are seeing your family Chiropractor during your pregnancy, you can ask him/her to evaluate this for you.

Best wishes and good luck.

Not to worry to much as it is normal for your heart to race while you are exercising. As long as you don't exert yourself overboard or everything was ok after that, you should be fine. However, if you experience the symptom occassionally accompanied with shortness of breath, sweating, chest pain ..., you need to see a cardiologist to have a checkup of your heart. take care :)

you may have taken in too much air and not exhaled soon enough=it is odd as usually the heart beats faster when one is doing fast shallow breathing=wouldn't hurt to get it checked out
