I can order 2 pieces of food per person (25 people) what happens if there ready to go home after two bites? emergency plan, please?

I'm with "TOM" on this one...darlin.
You can't do "swank" and economy in the same breath from what you've described here. How much is the room costing you or are you using the restaurant...:?
Have you called a caterer and gotten a quote from them as to what they can offer you...Honestly the worst part of this is the water....only ....thing...people won't let you live this down for a long time...When people go to an Hotel they are definately going to expect an open bar. .Honestly, We're trying to help you save face here so I hope you'll take the suggestions.
Get some of your girlfriends/male friends and tell them in lieu of gifts you'd like to have a great PARTAY....at the hotel...
Maybe you can get enough contributions to pull off something more than what has been planned already.
Have a GREAT BIRTHDAY, BABE!!!!!!!!!!

No way. Parties are always all about the food and drink. The guests come 2nd and you just can't treat guests like that. You have so many options at your disposal. Hotel is just about the most expensive thing you could have done.

Everyone WILL be ready to go home after nothing to drink but water and only two bites of food. How long would YOU hang around if you went to a party like that?

I thin if the two bites are placed in front of them as part of table service, they would not be disappointed. If it were on a buffet, and the first half of the people grabbed 4 bites each, and the last half of hte people got none, then yes, half would be disappointed.

If it is not sit-down service, ask about a carved ham, turkey, or roast beef. very elegant to have it carved for them, but rolls and condiments handy make a filing food.

The other thing is to level w/ the F&B Manager and tell them you have $200 to spend for 25 people, and what does he/she recommend for the biggest bang for you buck?

in my opinion, no you can not. food is everything in entertaining guests. If you can't get out of it than have your friends pot luck your b-day and have everyone bring something awesome that they made. I'm just being honest with you, you will be made fun of with finger food, water, and rolls. If you wanted it at the Hyatt but couldn't afford to make it better---the situation is as silly as buying an expensive couch and then putting plastic covers over it and yelling at people to keep it clean. i understand that food is expensive but you need to talk about the alternative of bringing outside food in or risk looking super cheap. Your friends are bringing you gifts..it can be about gifts or a get together---I would pick a pot luck and hang out instead of looking like the lady with plastic covers over her couch.
capice?!!!!!
happy birthday girl:)

Not to upset you, but if you're inviting people to a hotel for a birthday party, they're going to expect more than two bites of food and water. It doesn't matter how good of friends they are, everyone will be talking about the lack of food and drink.

You could have a party at your house with tons of pizza and beer [or soda] for $200.

consistent with length and kind of finger foodstuff which you're questioning serving it is going to selection from 8-12 products in line with head, as 18 365 days olds are extra centred on the alcohol in common terms you may verify as you recognize your'e 18 365 days previous friends

don't do it at the Hyatt
do it somewhere else
with 200 $ you can take the 25 people to a family restaurant and have a great dinner

I agree with Tom - have it at home - you can throw a hell of a party on $200 dollars

I had an at home wedding cocktail for about $300 and every one went away thrilled and stuffed
