Just because they are unconcious, does not mean they are not breathing. Hopefully your checking to see before you start blowing air into them and pumping on their chest. Go to CPR class.

1. You NEVER perform CPR on a person who is conscious.
2. If the person is conscious, give them ASPIRIN--not tylenol or ibuprofen.
3. Have them lie back, with their legs up higher than their heart.
4. Loosen their clothes
5. Keep people back.
6. If medical oxygen is available...give it.
7. Perform CPR ONLY when they are unconscious, with no detectable pulse or respiration.

You still need to call 911, but if they are conscious, you want to have them crush an aspirin in their mouth. This causes the blood to thin and the heart recieves more, which could be the difference between life and death.

if they are not conscious, yes perform CPR.

if they are conscious give them an aspirin. This is not a joke. Taking aspirin can save the person from some serious heart damage when having a heart attack.
