I love it, I am from Canada and have enjoyed it for years, but having been a chef here over a period of 20 yrs, I had the chance to try alot of different things, I like it as the Aussies do for breakfast on my toast, and use it in other dishes as an enhancer, most people have not idea what they are getting into when they first try it so it is a shock, but I am diabetic and on a sodium reduced diet, so it is a once and a while treat now, plus it is moderately expensive here, runs $3.00 CAN a small 150 gram jar, have seen them in large formats but then your talking over $5.

I'm an American. About 2 years ago I went to New Zealand and tried Vegemite. That stuff is awful! Toooo strong. It's like Horseradish.

Yes, an australian let me try some at a camp It tasted okay, very similar to brewer's yeast. Most of the americans that tried it though did not like it because it had no sugar. Don't expect it to taste it like anything you have ever had before. I could tolerate it quite well because my mother had me take brewer's yeast vitamins when I was young. Since i could not swallow well I had to chew them; it was a struggle tolerating the taste initially.

I like Vegemite on toast with butter. It's strong but savory and delicious.

I remember trying it when I was about six, and I hated it. I let Mom eat it for me. Now, when I think about the taste, and how I've learned to drink coffee sans sugar, and beer, I think I'd like it now. Just gotta lose that childhood addiction to sugar, you know...

I have tried it but found it to be very salty tasting. I didn't mind it so much but a little on toast goes a long way.
