not necessarily but usually when there is one, there is always the other.. they kinda support each other in a sense. High cholesterol will cause High BP. But then again... if you are healthy and have low cholesterol, Medications can increase your blood pressure as like in side effects kinda thing.

Blood pressure is just that, the pressure in the blood stream. Many things can have an effect on the pressure: medication, blockages, stress, lack of sleep, loss of blood, dehydration, etc. Cholesterol comes into the picture under the category of blockages: because cholesterol is one of the key components to "clogged arteries."
Cholesterol (when it is in too high of a concentration in the blood stream) can attach itself to different parts of the vessels throughout the body, and over time can (through increased buildup) create narrower vessels through which the blood will flow. Just like a garden hose that has been stepped on, when you narrow the vessels of the body, the pressure will increase.
It is also important to note that your heart has to work harder to make the pressure necessary to get the same amount of oxygen-carrying blood through these buit-up blockages. This is the reason that you might hear that high cholesterol is bad for the heart (because the heart can be overworked).
So to answer your question, if your blood pressure is high, it could be because of other reasons, but one common reason for High blood pressure is because of cholesterol blockages related to high cholesterol.

Not usually. High blood pressure is the measure of how much pressure your heart is using to squeeze blood out of the ventricle, and how much pressure exists within the ventricle when it is refilling.
Cholesterol is the percentage of fat floating in your blood.
The amount of sludge floating around in your blood stream has nothing to do with how much force your heart muscle is using to circulate blood.

Not necessarily ...many things can cause high blood pressure including genetics. Have your doctor do a workup to give you more information on how to control your blood pressure. If your cholesterol is high you should be given that information.

Not necessarily. A high colesterol will affect blood pressure, but high blood pressure will not cause high colesterol. It isn't unusual to see the two of them together.
It is kind of like a cold and a cough. A cold will normally cause a cough in the person, but just a cough will not cause a cold.

nope... not really.... see their are many causes of HPN like lack of rest, stress, overfatigue and even after you just ate... it doesnt necessarily mean that you have high cholesterol... if you really want to know about your cholesterol level you should go and get a bld test.
