Can you still have a normal life and sex life? The last time she had sex was 3 years ago, and just now got a little tiny outbreak. Can it spread easily? Please give any advise possible. Thank you...

Okay, first of all, you are confusing two DIFFERENT viruses. Herpes and HPV are NOT the same thing.

Genital herpes causes sores that can open and puss.

HPV can cause genital warts and cervical cancer.

I have had BOTH genital herpes and HPV for 6 years. I developed cervical cancer from my HPV when I was 17 years old, and I developed genital warts from my HPV about a year ago.

MILLIONS of people have herpes and HPV. The CDC (Centers for Disease and Control) reports about 1 in 4 women have genital herpes and about 1 in 5 men have it. So, genital herpes is pretty common! And, it's estimated about 75-80% of the world will have HPV at some point in their life. So, HPV is also pretty common.

Both viruses are pretty easily spread. Herpes and HPV can both be spread by sex (vaginal, oral, and anal) and by DIRECT skin to skin contact with the infected area. These viruses can NOT be spread by a toilet seat, shower, bathtub, jacuzzi, etc.

Having both viruses, I have to be a little more careful with sex compared to a person who doesn't have either STD. But, having both viruses hasn't stopped me from having relationships or having a normal sex life. I'm in a great relationship right now with my fiance. We have a great sex life and a great relationship and I couldn't be happier. Having herpes or HPV shouldn't hinder your sex life. MILLIONS of people have these viruses, so your friend is certainly not alone!

Yes, it can spread very easily, which is why tens of millions of people have it. The problem is that most don't know. HPV causes genital warts, and I guess herpes as well, but I'm not sure of the latter. I have genital warts, and have had no problem having a normal sex life. There are lots of web sites where people with STDs can connect with one another, and to be perfectly honest, many of your friends friends have it already. Like I said, they may not know, or more likely, have never had a reason to mention it before. I saw one study had found that eighty percent of women have or will contract HPV in their lifetime. It's nothing to be ashamed of, I was totally unaware when I contracted the virus, and the really sucky part is that condoms don't prevent the transmission of HPV. Skin contact is all it takes, and there is a lot of groin grinding during sex, even with a condom. Her doctor may have prescribed some medication to treat her outbreak, but there are also medications to control and prevent outbreaks, which lowers the chance of infecting someone else significantly. I have heard though, that you can infect someone with no sign of an outbreak, and in the case of the warts men can carry the virus and never show signs of it. No wonder it's everywhere. Anyway, I have researched this virus a lot, so ask for specific details if you need them. I will say, if it's been three years for your girl she needs to treat her outbreak, and find someone whom she can't infect, and get busy. That's a long time for no sex.

Ok which one is it? HPV or herpes. I have HPV about 13 strains of it but not a drop of herpes. I cant answer the herpes question, but as far as HPV you can have a normal sex life just limit yourself to ONE PERSON. You can spread HPV whether you have an outbreak or NOT. and yes it can spread EASILY. You can rub on a mans penis or have him rub you down there and if he touched himself and he already has it or even if he has some kind of wart on his hands, you may get it, although the strain from his wart on his hands to you getting cerv cancer are very slim but there arre SOOO many types of this virus it will blow your mind. Please DONT confuse HPV with HERPES. I never had any open sores, and because i DONT have herpes I will not. Hope this answers your question. OH yea, dont smoke because just in case you do have that strain, you can cause a rapid change in your cells. eat healthy and dont smoke and go exercise.

well all i can say use protection at all time and use less skin contact as much as possible and of course you can have an normal life cause people go through this type of situation everyday but the number one rule is tell the partner what you got first and then see what he say and if he-OR SHE is OK with it then give it a try but find you someone who will expect you for who you are first regardless of what you got and then you can make your move good luck.
