being overweight is not the only indicator of diabetes.

your daughter may indeed be diabetic as research says there are strong family and genetic predisposing factors that could place her in the juvenile diabetes category.

the pancreas (more specifically, the islets of langerhans within the pancreas) are responsible for the body's natural regulation of blood sugar and it's attendant krebs cycle.

when the islets of langerhans begin to shut down, or are diseased or weakened due to diabetic complications, they cannot match the bodies need for insulin. Supplemental insulin can help the body to boost the needed levels and create stable blood sugar level.

while this is a major possibility, an endocrinologist should be consulted to make sure that no other possibilities of hormonal variance are creating or adding to the issues.

Good luck!
Hope this helps!

Sounds like your daughter is diabetic. Your doctors are on the right track. Make sure you write down a list of questions that you have and bring them to the next doctor's appointment.
It isn't necessary for a person to be overweight to have Diabetes, Type 1 Diabetics(or Juvenile Diabetes) are often children, although there are more adults being diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes.

Her glucose readings are all over the map, and they will need to be regulated through medication. There are many good diabetic medications now that have few side effects and allow many people to live normal lives.
The best thing to do is to always have Orange Juice in the house, in case she has a Hypoglycemic(Low Blood Sugar) episode. Orange Juice will send glucose rapidly through the bloodstream.
Some of the symptoms of Hypoglycemia:
Fatigue
General discomfort, uneasiness, or ill feeling (malaise)
Nervousness
Irritability, or even aggression
Trembling
Headache
Hunger
Cold sweats
Rapid heart rate
Blurry or double vision
Confusion
Dizziness

These are the things to be looking out for. If you find her this way, test her blood sugar and if it's too low, then give her some juice. If she is completely unresponsive, or unconscious, then you need to call 911 and let them know that she is being tested for Diabetes.

I do so wish you the best of luck.

I'm a 45 year old woman and was recently diagnosed as being a borderline diabetic. My doctor prescribed some medication, but before filling it I decided to do some research on the internet which led me to the methods. After reading this ebook and applying the methods, my scepticism turned to 100% belief. I noticed that my energy levels increased significantly and I felt more rested in the morning, my symptoms started going away.

I am very happy to tell you that I have been feeling better than I have felt in years and my doctor informed me that he will be taking me off my prescriptions if I keep this up.

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

Your daughter's blood sugar levels don't look that abnormal, especially if she's not taking medication for diabetes. "Normal" blood sugars range from 70-120 fasting. Readings after eating depends on what was eaten and when the sugars were checked. You were right to check 2 hours after eating. A reading of 190 after eating is not that bad (especially since it was under 2 hours); a reading of 107 taken 2 hours and 15 minutes after eating is normal. 96 before bed is normal. 115 in the morning is a little elevated, but stress or a bad night's sleep can cause havoc on blood sugars; 115 isn't even that bad. Some days I would LOVE it if my sugars ran as good as your daughter's. Has she had any "drunken" episodes since you bought the glucose meter? If she has, what was her blood sugar at that time? She may not have diabetes, but she could have hypoglycemia (a condition of lower than normal blood sugars; diabetes is a condition of higher than normal blood sugars.).

Instead of diabetes or hypoglycemia, it could be some kind of hormonal imbalance. Any of her glands could be producing too little or too much of any other hormone besides insulin.

Good luck and best of health to you and your daughter.

Type 1 Diabetics are typically underweight at the time of diagnosis because the body is starved for energy and feeding on itself.

The 190 bloodsugar is high, but your daughter hase some insulin activity if it drops 45 minutes later.

It sounds like the doctors are doing the right thing. The only thing I sugest is that you try to be patient. Testing again about an hour after meals may hewlp the doctor(s) if you find it goes high again.

I wish you the best of luck.

i do think she is showing signs of diabetes. 190 is too high as well as 115 in the morning. but neither are extremely high. so she is producing some insulin. the first blood sugar of the day are very improtant that gives use a good baseline to go with. that result should be pretty low. 115 is only slightly high. we do have a doctor here that doesnt want his patients to run over 95 in the am. or over 120 during the day. so wait for your test results and hopefully she can control it with diet and exercise. Good Luck

Overweight is not always the greatest indicator of being a diabetic, ie, low weight people can have it as well. Make a doctor's appointment !

typically a child of that age will have one of two things related to diabetes, being fat and type two diabetes where the body can not produce enough insulin to cover the massive body weight (not you)........Blood readings that are way above normal 400, 500, 700, excessive thirst, excessive weight loss, overall bad health (dont think you). So I don't think she is diabetic.

not enough info: is symptom happen after athletics? she might be getting low sugar after exercise... need to keep glucose with her.... to low can cause coma dont run till after results,
but her current test after meals ext. seem within normal range
could be something else
if she has been a runner for years and suddenly cant do it, doesnt sound like diebeties to me....even though she has alot of the right symptoms..

See an Endocrinologist to have her thyroid checked. This is the type of doctor who specializes in this area.
