I a vegetarian newbie and I have been trying to incorporate more greeens in my diet. After a BM the other day, I kind of poked around in it and I noticed some almonds that were still in pretty good shape. Is it normal for almonds to not digest? Can I do anything to help my body break them down?

First of all, my BM didn't look like Almond Joy. I only found the one almond sliver. Even when I sifted everything through a strainer, I didn't find anything else.

They are high in fat. My veggie friend eats almonds and is very healthy. But, she is also active.

Almonds lower your "bad" cholesterol and are very good for your skin. As for your BM looking like an Almond Joy, I don't know what to tell ya except try chewing them a little more.

Aah there you are... the notorious Foxhunter_guy who stalks the vegetarian / vegan sections since February.

Almonds... get a hammer out and smash the almonds to bits then put it in the blender, add a bit of water or milk so it all turns into almond mush. Make life easier for you! haha

Cheers for the visual!! Good job I'm a vegan and I don't eat Almond mars bars or you'd be in trouble!!! LOL !!!

Almonds, like most nuts are great for you in small doses. A gent of a certain age like yourself should eat about 4 brazil nuts a day . They contain selenium which is great for your skin!!

Don't be so obsessed with your BM's. Almonds are healthy, sometimes things pass through your digestive system. It happens. It happens with corn and peanuts too.
If you really want to help them break down put them through a coffee grinder or food processor to crumble them.

hahahahahahahahaha....... bless. If you have not digested them then you have eaten too many for your tummy to digest. Simply that.

I think its good to have a look but if you are so concerned.. just have one fast day.. drink nothing but water with hint of lemon in it. Next day eat a small meal including nuts.. ground would help your digestive system more. Look up the recommend daily for nuts and fruit on your government website.

I wish you luck.. and sorry for laughing. Good question really.

I've never met an unhealthy almond. If I were an almond I'd be pleased to be through you in one piece as well! Or any other kind of nut either..

Bye for now Scat boy.

Almonds are known to be the only nuts that are alkaline. Very healthy if eaten in moderation.

almonds, like most nuts are very good for you,but high in fat. but it is a good fat. as your system is not used to eating nuts so it will take a while to get used to it. in the mean time, try chopping your nuts finely and sprinkle in your food.
