Ask your local Pharmacist or OBGYN. For cold sores on the lips which is a variation of the same virus, there is an OTC lip balm. But otherwise... the other treatments are prescription, Aldera cream, Valtrex, Famvir, Acyclovir, etc. Good Luck.

If you're talking about the prescription stuff like on the commercials then no. The drug company that makes that stuff gets exclusive rights to sell it for 10 years. No one else can come out with a generic until after the 10 year period. By the way, this only applies for those living in the USA. Other countries don't always have the same rules with pharmaceutical drugs...

yeah i think it is called herpinex or something like that it is in the section with cold sore medications cause cold sores are a nother type of herpes
