Does anyone have any good ideas on how to make a deviled egg holder without going out to buy one?

Use the styrofoam egg carton the eggs came in.

Instead of cutting the eggs in half length wise cut off the tops only... most people eat more than just one half anyway.

Pile a plate with chopped lettuce - the greener, the better. If it's iceberg lettuce, toss it with a little lemon juice to keep it from turning brown. Nestle in your deviled eggs & voila! They stay put & look wonderful!
It looks neat- kinda like grass- and everyone will think you were SO inventive!

You can fashion aluminium foil into an effective deviled egg holder.

They're pretty cheap at Wal-Mart or yard sales. It's a good investment. However, if you don't want to buy one, buy some leaf lettuce to line your platter. That'll keep the eggs from bobbling around, plus it looks great for presentation.
