Thanks, citizen insane, I Can See Gallstones Raising Triglcerides, but Truly, Isn't this an Effect? I've Read a Little About the Free Fatty Acid PROPOSED Effect, as a Cause, but this is Only Spectulation.

If you're talking about acute pancreatitis, high serum triglyceride is thought to play a role in causing the pancreatitis, for at least 2 reasons: (1) the most common cause of acute pancreatitis is an obstructive gallstone, which is itself primarily composed of cholesterol -- high serum triglycerides certainly predispose to gallstone formation, and thus will predispose to acute pancreatitis, (2) the free fatty acids damage the pancreatic acinar cells, thereby producing inflammation manifest as pancreatitis. Both of these mechanisms are well-acknowledged in the medical literature. Please note, however, that high serum triglycerides will not directly cause pancreatitis 100% of the time, if that's the answer you're looking for -- it depends on other factors that predispose toward some proximate or secondary reason for the pancreas to be damaged, such as the aforementioned gallstone
