I was diagnosed with hsv about a year and a half ago. I found out that my boyfriend had given it to me, and he knew he had it. I stayed with him simply because we both had it. However, he became abusive and I left the relationship.I don't have frequent outbreaks/symptoms, but i know that it can spread even if you are asymptomatic. I have met someone new, and I feel like i can't have sex anymore...I feel like I'm going to ruin his life the way that mine was ruined. I feel horrible, and i feel like having sex is out of the question. What should I do?

You shouldn't feel horrible about having genital herpes! MILLIONS of people have it. According to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) 1 out of 4 women have genital herpes and 1 in 5 men have it. So, you are certainly NOT alone!
I have had genital herpes for 6 years. I have had several boyfriends over the last 6 years and they were all really understanding about the virus. None of them ever ran away screaming or anything! I even met and dated a guy who also had it! Right now I am with a great guy. He didn't care that I had genital herpes, he loved me for ME and not the virus I have.
Just explain to this new guy what you have. I even gave my fiance (boyfriend at the time) some web site addresses so he could read about it in his spare time. If this new guy is just disgusted and doesn't want to date you then you are probably better off without him! There are plenty of fish in the sea!

I got diagnosed with herpes virus (type 2) about four years back, when I was still attending college and had a dumb one-night stand. I know a lot of people say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a massive mistake that one time and suddenly it seemed like I was going to have to live with the consequences for the rest of my life. The worst part was feeling I could never date guys again. After all, who wants to go out with someone who has sores round her "you know what" area? But since a friend shared this video https://tr.im/lTabm everything got better.
Not only was I able to remove all traces of the herpes virus from my body in less than 21 days, but I was also able to begin dating again. I even met the guy of my dreams and I'm so lucky to write that just last week, in front of everybody in a crowded restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!!! This system provided me the chance to be happy and experience real love again. Now I want to help others by sharing this story.

You need to talk with your new boyfriend and tell him up front that you have genital herpes If he truly cares for you then this should not matter. There are many new drugs that can prevent outbreaks of the virus, but do not prevent the spread of the virus. Condoms are a must. My daughter in law has this and she never has unprotected sex. She did with her x husband as she got it from him. You can have sex without a condom when you the lesions are not "active" but there are risks.

Okay.. First thing to do is TELL HIM you have Herpes, so He can make the decision your former BF did not afford you.! You also should be taking Herpes medications for suppression like Valtrex, Acyclovir and such. I found this really informative site, http://GenitalHerpesTreatment.blogspot.com/ .It has information on dealing with Herpes, pictures of Herpes, and much more. I hope this information helps you deal with such a difficult and embarrassing situation. good luck Dear.

Tough deal.
Many people think that sufferers of Herpes intentionally infect others to increase the number of sufferers, and make the problem less ostracizing.
Tell him, and talk about it.
It is possible to have a relationship without spreading it.

Genital herpes is sexually transmitted. It is highly contagious. And if you are infected, you are infected for life.
I would tell him of your condition and just let nature takes it course.
Good news: There are other alternatives to pleasure yourself.

Talk to your doctor about medicine to help control the Herpes.
Talk to your bf and TELL HIM before you ever decide to become intimate. It is his choice if he wants a physical relationship with you.
If he does, you must ALWAYS practice safer sex.
