I have HPV. I had a colpscopy and a biopsy performed and they said the results where positive. So I know I shouldn't worry, but I was just wondering how I can get rid of this.

There is no cure for HPV.

Most women are able to get rid of the virus on their own though, but others have it the rest of their life. For some women their bodies are basically able to "fight it off", but this doesn't always happen.

Just stay on top of your pap smears and try and stay healthy. You might be able to get rid of it own your own. Good luck to you!

i had those done too...usually HPV may go away on its own...sometimes not. there is a procedure they can do as well...(unfortunately i cant remember the name of it) but it basically shaves of a portion of your cervix. i believe this is also an out patient surgery as well. i had all those things done (actually 7 years ago) and i am all cured...i went for pap tests ever 3 months and now i am going once a year. and they have all come back good. so dont worry you will be just fine!!

You can't. It may go dormant over time and sometimes go away, but there's no cure. Just make sure you get annual exams to head off cervical cancer. You'll be fine.

Dont worry. It usually resolves on its own. Just be sure to have your pap smear every 6 months until its "normal" and then every year after that.

Its a virus. You can't just get rid of it.

With some people, it may go away over time.
