No. Sugar is sugar. It is a concentrated source of simple carbohydrates and will quickly raise your blood glucose. A diabetic should use sugar sparingly, or if one can't use it sparingly, not at all.

Only if it has less carbs than regular sugar. What diabetics really have to watch is carbohydrates.
