It is typical that a person's metabolism changes in the early 30's.

It is a bit more evident with women, as other hormone changes may be going on at the same time, but men do experience similar changes at about the same age.

That is one reason that 30-somethings tend to gain weight. Their system slows down and needs less fuel, but we continue to eat our customary amounts.

You may be able to counter this by eating healthier foods in less quantity, and increasing your activity level. At first, you may have to almost force yourself, but once you make this a lifestyle change, you will probably actually enjoy it.

It may make other, upcoming changes less traumatic, too. Almost every decade of life has some change to get used to in our health. (Believe me, I am in my 50's, and my Grandmother is now 99 -- we can verify by experience!)

yes it will unfortunatly for women even more that for man everything start to slow done after 30. however if you metabolism was high it will take some time to go very low. but don't worry it will take years before it get bad.

Just help your body by having a healthy balance diet and excersise regularly.

yup.
it's nature... unfortunately... (sigh)
exercise, esp. strength training, will build muscles and offset the loss of metabolism.
