Well, I'm not a big fan of the fried pb and banana sandwich, but it would be totally Elvis. For decorations I would suggest going to a used record shop and picking up a few of the cheapest records they have. If they are scratched it really doesn't matter. Cover them with plastic wrap to serve food on. Another thing to do, although they might be more difficult to find, is christmas ornaments that have a disco ball like feel. They are silver plastic, I bought them at the dollar general last christmas, but I am sure with a little research you can find them online. They are light enough to hang from the ceiling with scotch tape. If you have a photo printer it would be nicer, but you can certainly print images that represent Elvis on the Internet. Find images of blue suede shoes, hound dogs, graceland, Vegas, etc. Depending on how well you work with photo software you should be able to crop some images so you could just get a image of part of his costume. Take a whole wall and make a collage of these images. You can buy this blue sticky stuff at walmart so you don't damage your walls. Buy some colored light bulbs, they always create a mood. Check out the dollar store around you as well. They always have a ton of tacky stuff, and nothing says tacky like Elvis. For favors the World Poker tour makes washclotes that need to be rehydrated, but they look like poker chips. Morgan Home is the distributor.

For food I would do throwback food. Pigs in a blanket, sweedish meatballs, fondue (you can get a fondue pot cheap, but don't expect to use it many times), ruben dip (this is delicious if you want the recipe I can send it) with rye toast squares, etc. Lest I forget the pb and banana sandwich. Buy a sandwich maker if you don't have one. Again check around you should be able to get one for less than $10. Then have all the makings and let your guests create one if they are brave enough!

Serve foods "Fit For a King" chicken "love me" tenders, and the famous fried peanut butter & banana sandwiches.

Peanut Butter and Banana Sandwich

3 tablespoons soft, creamy peanut butter
2 slices light bread
1 banana, mashed
2 tablespoons margarine
Mix the peanut butter and mashed banana together. Lightly toast the bread and spread with the peanut butter and mashed banana mixture. Put the bread together and coat bread with margarine. Put into a frying pan and cook on medium heat until both sides of the sandwich is browned. (If you want to offer these as hors d'oeuvres, cut into triangles and serve.)

For dessert serve a cake shaped like a guitar. Licorice makes great strings!

Decorate in fifties shades of pink, blue and black. Hang up old LPs as decorations as well. Spray paint an old pair of shoes blue and hang over your buffet table. Ask your guests to come dressed as "The King" or Priscilla (black wigs?). They'll immediately become moving decorations at your party. Play Elvis music in the background. HAVE FUN!

Go to official or "original "unofficial web sites of Elvis (see below for the links). You might find some ideas and downloads to print for free. I hope this was helpful. Ah ha ha.

You can get lots of photos to print out on the internet. You can also get some Rock 'n Roll theme decorations pretty reasonably at Oriental Trading Company, go to their website to order.
