There is no such thing as a vegetarian who eats fish. A fish is an animal and vegetarians do not eat animals. You are thinking of a pescavore, which is a form of omnivore.

You're amazed by how many people don't know what a vegan is, well I could say the same about people believing they can eat fish if they're a vegetarian. Last time I checked...fish is an animal, vegetarians don't eat animals!

Some one who eats fish is not a vegetarian. the correct word is Piscivore. Fish is meat too, so being a vegetarian that eats fish just doesn't make sense.

Pescatarian is the term your looking for.

However lets be clear you can't be a vegetarian and eat fish as vegetarians don't eat animals.Your just a more selective omnivore.

A pescetarian is a "vegetarian" who eats fish.
A vegan is a strict vegetarian who consumes no animal products at all: no milk, eggs or honey. And they tend to freak out about food additives that are animal-derived too, such a lactic acid and gelatine. Some even refuse sugar because they say it's clarified with bone-char.

There's no such thing as a vegetarian who eats fish. And I object to the term 'vegetarian' being used in reference to those people ... 'semi-vegetarian'... nope. I'm a vegetarian that eats dairy but not eggs... does that make me 'semi-vegan'? No. I'm not that presumptuous! And neither should they be!

But the proper word for a person who eats only the meat of fish is 'pescatarian'. I've also seen 'piscivore' used. These people are in no way, shape or form vegetarians.

There is no such thing as a vegetarian who eats fish. This is a popular notion but not acceptable to most vegetarians who draw the line at eating something that has to be killed to be eaten.

Lacto-ovo is acceptable (to some)because milk is a product of live animals and eggs are chicken embryos. Vegans would not approve.
