Milk and sugar are to be regulated t the minimum. One cup of tonned milk can be taken as breakfast. The carbohydrate lactose gives milk its sweet taste and contributes about 40% of whole cow milk's calories. Lactose is a composite of two simple sugars, glucose and galactose.
Milk also contains fat. More consumption of milk will cause hypercholesterolemia (excess cholesterol in the blood).

Yes--everything you consume raises your blood sugar. I love dairy.
I have been diabetic for 10 years and I am on Insulin and Actos. I have chosen to enjoy my life. I have cut out all sweets, all sodas, and anything blatently high in sugar.
However, the diabetic diet is so restrictive, I really don't think I could enjoy life if I followed it to the letter.

Milk can raise it some. Yogurt will raise it much more. Cheese not as much. Depends on the product. Check the label and look at how many carbs or sugars are in it.
