This is an annual event that I have hosted for 4 years. In the past I have done the "pre-made" Easter baskets and stuffed animals for the younger kids. Last year, I purchased the inexpensive buckets and filled them with little things, but it didn't have the appearance that I was after. I have a short time to put this together, but will invest a reasonable amount of money. I am expecting 25-30 kids. Thanks so much for your help!!

There is such a short time left, and I don't know your skill level, so it is hard to answer your question. It sounds like you are giving more of a "gift" than a "favor". How about giving each child a coupon for a "Happy Meal" inside of a plastic egg? Did you do a search for 'Easter party favors'? There are too many sites that come up, to mention them all here. I wish you had asked earlier. I know of a lot of places that have grand ideas, but you have to order them...and there's no time. Put this site away until next year, for fun Easter things.

Go on Ebay and buy some *magic crystals* then get fruit jars or glass containers from wal mart... NOW place correct amount into the jars and add the water... then add the food coloring to get the varied colors you want to have..let sit for 20 mins... now add a plant... be sure to wash the roots off very will before putting into the colored crystals... Spider plants work very well for this. (Can also use to *root* plants)

They only need to add water when necessary and no need to ever transplant unless they want to...

SEW have fun with this

Being that this is for kids, they don't too much care about how beautiful they are...but, get the empty eggs and put things in those, and depending on the age range and sex of the children give everyone something different also in their baskets.

Pier 1 has a collection of classic toys and games that are interesting, colorful, and require some thinking and imagination. An added bonus is that they are relatively inexpensive.
