Yeast infections are common for woman, but occasionally the partner may have picked up the infection too.

So ideally your should tell, him and avoid sexual contact until infection has cleared, or he may unwittingly pass the infection back to you, creating a vicious circle.

Good luck

Hello, I'm on the second week and seeing definite improvement on my yeast infection symptoms:

Note that: If the yeast infection doesn't respond to over the counter treatment, prescription medication will likely be necessary. Similarly, if the symptoms return after two months of being treated, you should contact the doctor for professional treatment rather than resorting again to home treatment.

If this is the first time you have experienced a yeast infection, you should schedule an appointment to have the condition treated by a doctor instead of resorting to home treatment

Yes, but make sure that's what it is first. Go to the doctor and find out for sure but in the mean time do not have sex. Normally men are the carriers of the yeast and that is how you get the infection and then you can in turn pass the infection to your partner. So be safe and go to the doctor.

Well theres no real danger of withholding the fact that you have a yeast infection but theres no reason to keep it from him either. There is the chance of transmitting it to him and causing symptoms but the penis is hardly hospitable to fungi and usually not a concern in males. Yeast infections are so common that one could almost declare it as "comes with the territory". I think out of general courtesy though, you should let him know as it tends to be a little funky, odor wise. (especially if he has an inclination toward giving oral sex)

I tell my fiance when I have one. He sometimes tells me "too much info", but oh well. I think it's better if he knows.

Since yeast infections can be spread back and forth during sex (it's NOT considered a STD though), I would say it is probably a good idea you tell him. Or, just avoid sex until it goes away. You wouldn't want to pass it to him.

First find out what it is for sure. If it is really Yeast then its curable, just take the meds to clean it up and you're fine, you don't have to tell your bf.

But God forbit if it's something incurable or you're going to get intimate before you treat the Yeast, then of course, you should tell your boyfriend. Even if he does weird out at first, he would eventually realize that you revealed it for HIS sake and and would appreciate it.

yes you should tell him...because if you try to have sex and you have a yeast infection it will HURT .....ALOT. you could always run down to the drugstore and get some monistat and use that for a few days and see if it helps you. but first, go to webmd.com and check your symptoms to make sure that is what you have...no sense in treating something that you might not even have.

Yes, you need to have comunication. I been through this. I got a pimple on my labia majora and I told my boyfriend about it. He thought that I had sex with someone else and I told him, no, i didn't. You probably did!! And he said no. So, I was like?????? WHAT? So, the pimple or wart came every month, I just rub some cream for infection, you know Over the counter cream for warts....You need to tell him.
