Exercise will make you gain muscle as well as lower your blood sugar.

That's really hard, because both the initial output and the maintaining of the muscle is very "glucose expensive". At the end of the day, if you do this, you should really improve your health... but getting there...

a few things: obviously you need incredibly steady Bg control. You will need to check your Bg right after the work out, and 1/2 hr after and 1 hr after, etc., to see how it is affecting you. (we are all different).

You probably need to start your workouts with slightly high Bg. And you need insulin in there, so that the glucose can get into the cells that you are about to use. So time your shots.

You are going to have to play with this... be prepared and patient. You can do this, I am sure-- but you will have some rough spots as you figure out when to eat and when to shoot and when to exercise. You probably can't build as fast as someone who doesn't have to deal with this.

Also-- have your MD check your testosterone level. If it's anything below like 800, push him to let you try supplementing it. ("normal" is 400- 1500.... but we are diabetics!).
Good luck! And be sure to bring glucose tabs with you to the gym, just in case.
