I tried quorn, and I am not impressed. They are smaller portions, less breading, less herbs and spices to flavor....quorn tastes sort of like protein cardboard to me...at least the "fish" ones do?

worthington foods used to be a local company before kelloggs bought them and the fake bacon used to have beet juice for red coloring, now is just artificial coloring...

GG : I wasn't aware there are eggs in Morningstar farms chik patties..I love those..working on the analog problems...problems with time and dirty dishes to do and 12 cats watching everything I try to cook and trying to swat at the food...also trying to return to veg (was 20 years vegetarian, then chemo went back to meat)..now trying to get back ..hard to change back...you would think 20 years would be new habits, but mostly a junk food veg with taco bell bean burritos and soymilk and mike sells potato chips..LOL

I'll back up Vegan about Tuno!! That stuff is awesome and is sadly missed. Everyone should do like me and *ream* Kellogg's for canceling it even though I understand why they did. It was *very* hard to make and they actually had four different recipes they used to make it (I visited Miles Labs way back when and learned a lot from those folks). Even though you don't like scallops you still might consider getting a can of Skallops and try breading and frying it. I never had the real dead animal stuff but I like the Skallops. I assume you aren't vegan (since you tried Quorn) so you might hunt down Worthington Fillets for a veggie fish option. The only Quorn products I've seen are their chicken ones (I've been under the impression their fish products weren't US approved) and I'm disturbed by the large amount of egg they use in their stuff so I avoid them. The MS Farms chicken stuff tastes better (IMO) and uses a LOT less egg. Both those companies use battery hens for their eggs so that's a consideration as well. Gardenburger stopped using eggs so you may wish to consider their products (but I have a personal problem with them) and also hunt down Nate's. The best option might be to lose your mind (like me) and learn to make your own analogs (fake meats)! It's a LOT of work but you get the exact taste you want. :-)

Worthington's frozen tuno was the best. (The canned stuff was awful though.) Sadly, it was discontinued.

I also like the worthington foods skallops. If you have a 7th day adventist bookstore nearby they have lots of awesome things to try.

The skallops are canned, they'll be with the canned fake hot dogs.

I never heard of Quorn fish. I use Quorn tenders, they are bite size chunks that are remarkably close to chicken and nobody I ever served it to thought it was anything but chicken. It fools everyone. I use it in any recipe calling for chicken.
