i know alot you probably have had house parties , open houses, keggers, etc. what are some good techniques to keep the police out and we not have to worry. so far we are not using the first or 2nd floor. so all lights will be off up there, we will all be in basement. were using back storm doors to let people in, were going to put black trashbags up on the inside windows just in case.

any other ideas guys? haha thanks

Take your prized posessions and lock them up in the bedrooms. And, lock all the bedroom doors so that folks can't "help themselves" when they're snooping around. If you are using the basement, then make the upper part of the house off limits by locking the doors with a "no exception" rule. Take everybody's car keys as they walk thru the door so that a designated driver can make sure everyone get's home safely. Let your neighbors know that you will be entertaining on that evening and that it might get noisy. Have a curfew as to when you turn the music down and say goodnight. Even though its a weekend, not everyone wants to here Poison blasting at 3:00 in the morning! Figure out parking and ask a couple of friends to give you a hand making sure that people don't park on lawns and such. I'm certain that if you live with your parents, you've informed them of your intention to party, right???? Ok ,so they don't know.....remember, when you let underage girls in and they have sex with an "adult", or even if they have sex with another minor while under the influence, that could be grounds for statutory rape if their parents or they want to press charges later.

Make sure you have a few people over 21 who will stay sober and be able to talk to any cops if they come. They can go to the door while everyone else hides in the basement and stays quiet. Most likely the cops will just say quiet down and leave (unless people are still being disruptive when they come). Some other good tips:

-don't piss off the neighbors (throw cans in their yard, be too loud, have people wandering in their yard, etc. This will cause them to call the police).

-if people start fighting, immediatly kick them out. I've called the cops because I've heard people fighting in front of my house after coming from a party a few houses down. They were threatening to kill each other and I was afraid they'd try and come in my house. Make sure people don't feel threatened, otherwise they may call the cops.

-Kick destructive people out, they draw attention.

-Keep the party inside.

The fact that its in the basement will help keep the noise down, thats the #1 reason people call the cops. Just to check, every so often go outside and stand on the sidewalk to see how much you can hear outside. Just keeping the bass down will work wonders, believe me.
